After graduating in graphic design at the Utrecht University of the Arts (HKU) in 2011, I started working at animation studio Explanators. As an illustrator I created storyboards for clients like Delta Lloyd and Rabobank. At the same time I also started freelancing to be able to work on some more traditional graphic design projects.
At the start of 2016 it was time for the next step and I decided to start freelancing on a fulltime base. Over the past couple years I worked for newspaper Het Financieele Dagblad and music platform The Daily Indie.
Working as a freelancer gave me the opportunity to work in different environments and to learn from other designers with diverse disciplines. Freelancing also gave me the freedom to work from abroad. In November 2016 I left the Netherlands to live in Auckland, New Zealand. Currently, I’m working (a bit closer to home) out of Ghent, Belgium. In 2020 — while living in Ghent — I started a new education at Artevelde University of Applied Sciences, to become a teacher in my profession.
